The main events during fallas are the following:
The “Crida”, normally celebrated in Febuary where the Fallera commission announces the start of the fallas festivity.
The “Planta” normally on the 15th and 16th of March is the start of the fallas, and is the day that the monuments start getting built in their corresponding locations.
On the morning of the 17th, a professional jury visits each monument, and is in charge of evaluating and scoring each falla according to several criteria such as: How the monument is painted, finishes and textures and how the falla is modelled, taking into account the risk it has of collapsing, originality and innovation in the critique surrounding the monument is also evaluated.
On the same day at 2pm, the “MASCLETAES” Festival takes place in the park Léstacio, and at 5.30 p.m. the flower parade and presentation to the virgin of Oliva begins, where hundreds of bouquets of flowers are given in honour to her, making this one of the most emotional event for the falleros.
On 19th the “CREMA” takes place starting with the children's monument at 9pm and followed by the bigger monuments at 11pm, this is the most important moment of the whole festivity, its when the queen of the fallas, lights the fuse that starts the burning of the monuments. Putting an end to the falla festivity.
